Available Sheet Metal Finishes

Minimal post-processing or treatment on parts is done.

The part surface is media blasted, typically using glass bead, to produce a smooth, matte appearance.

Type II creates a corrosion-resistant finish. Parts can be anodized in different colors—clear, black, red, and gold are most common—and is usually associated with aluminum. Type III is thicker and creates a wear-resistant layer in addition to the corrosion resistance seen with Type II.

Chem film offers corrosion resistance and excellent conductivity properties, making it an ideal sheet metal finish. Suitable as a paint base, it may impart a yellow or gold hue to surfaces. With minimal thickness addition ranging from 0.00001″ to 0.00004″, chem film adheres to MIL-DTL-5541, TYPE I/II specifications.

This is a process where powdered paint is sprayed onto a part which is then baked in an oven. This creates a strong, wear- and corrosion-resistant layer that is more durable than standard painting methods. A wide variety of colors are available to create the desired aesthetic.

Nickel plating in sheet metal fabrication ensures consistent coating, safeguarding irregular surfaces from corrosion, oxidation, and wear while enhancing brightness. With a thickness starting at 0.0001″, this finish meets MIL-C-26074 specifications for durability and quality.
Gold Plating offers superior corrosion and tarnish resistance alongside exceptional solderability. Adhering to the MIL-G-45204 & ASTM B488, CLASS 00, 0, OR 1 standards, thickness ranges from 0.00002″ to 0.00005″ for long-lasting and reliable performance.
Silver plating delivers high solderability and electrical conductivity on sheet metal parts while complying with AMS QQ-S-365D. However, it may tarnish over time. The typical thickness ranges from 0.00002″ to 0.0003″.
