CNC Machining Design Guidelines

Floor fillets | To enable the same tool to effectively remove material from the interior, ensure floor fillets (floor radius) are designed smaller than corner fillets (corner radius). |
Undercuts | For optimal accessibility during the machining process, ensure undercuts are designed to standard sizes and positioned away from corners to accommodate the cutting tool. |
Tapped/threaded hole depth | To guarantee complete thread formation, provide tool clearance that extends marginally beyond the tapped hole depth. |
Complexity | Minimize the number of small cuts to help decrease CNC machining expenses; strike a balance between functionality and aesthetics by incorporating only essential design features. |
